I downloaded WWE 2K16 recently. The game was crashing initially and when i saw the reason in Event Viewer, atidxx64.dll was causing the issues. So I followed some help online and reinstalled latest AMDGPU drivers and it started working. I played for a day. And from next day, the game stopped working. Again. The game crashes right after Stone cold splash screen. This time error was something else. Its causing Exception 0xc000005 as per Windows Event Viewer. I reinstalled game like 5 times, changed path of installation everytime just to be sure, disabled Windows firewall but still the issue is not getting fixed.

My Hardware Specs:

Sorry for late reply again, but this problem is deeper then I originally thought.
Maybe there is a way to disable intro videos in wwe 2k16, and by that way the game loading into the main menu straight away.
But as i type this, i have ofcourse tried to find if its possible, but it seems it is not.
It seems there is a solution for nvidia cards though, which can be found here:

So you might try install drivers that came out around the time the game came out. Other then that for now i have no clue, as youve tried to do almost everything already

Still i hope you can do something with the given steam link, but im afraid indeed your last hope is the new windows…

What i’ve did is using game-debate’s comparison to compare your cpu and gpu to my own (as i could run the game perfectly fine in the past) and the games recommended gpu and cpu.
It seems that both your cpu and gpu are not up to the task of meeting the game’s reccomended requirements, and barely the bare minimum requirements.
It might be a thing to run the game’s exe as admin, (google how to do it), but keep in mind that your pc is only barely capable of running the game.
Also, the report you’ve given us, is saying your game’s exe is 1.0, whereas a quick google search is saying that there is at least an 1.01 patch for the pc version. So you might wanna consider of getting the latest patch and try again.
But honestly, I think its best to give up with your system, as all of 2k’s sports games are quite heavy for pc’s, where they don’t give the correct system requirements imo.
For example, with my system i should be able to max wwe 2k19 out with at least 60 fps, but i wont hit it always.. So maybe that is saying enough.

Thank you for the reply. About the system requirements, as I said, I played it fine for a couple of hours before I switched to my linux (dual booted) to work. After some more hours working, I was free and decided to boot up windows and play again. Since then, Game is not working. When it was working, I could play with over 30 FPS (kinda like 40 at most) (which is fine for a non esports game) . Music, Animations, Effects everything was perfectly fine even on Medium Settings… And, I did install the 1.01 Patch.. idk why in exe they are showing 1.0.. but its 1.01 patch trust me.

I tried Compatibility and running as admin aswell nothing seems to work now. I searched on google about exception 0xc0000005 and it says this is about accessing memory which it does not belong to… which makes me confuse a lot because it used to work fine but not now…

Actually it could be a mem issue.
If you are willing to leave your lappy powered on, overnight when you go to sleep, it might be a safe bet to run a memtest.

Do keep in mind that when you test it to the maximum, which you should for deep analisis, it can take lots of time. Therefor, it might be best to start the test when you go to sleep on a day of which you have to go to work (or have to do something else) the day after.
So then start the mem test, go to sleep, wake up, go to work, and when you get back home, the results should be there.
If all is well there, then at least you can say it is not the memory, but then comes the following..

I have googled meanwhile for the error, and digged into some fora, and tried to reproduce your error. Only having found that i could not reproduce the error, so if its not the memory, i dont have a single clue what it can be.

General tricks you can do, is giving your lappy maximum performance, google how to do that, as im not sure how that works for amd cards.
And also you might look into the virtual memory (again google for this as otherwise this post gets a bit long, although its not that hard to do it) and increase it. But by the way, normally the default setting for virtual memory should be fine.
One other trick I normally do is applying the tdrdelay trick, which can be found here:

View: https://www.reddit.com/r/battlefield_4/comments/1xzzn4/tdrdelay_10_fixed_my_crashes_since_last_patch/

The mentioned topic is for bf4, but it helps for all applications, and make games/software etc, less prone to crashing.

But again, these are general tips.. and although i have the feeling you were just lucky to run the game, i might’ve found something interesting, although its for 2k15, but it might work for 2k16 as well:

https://steamcommunity.com/app/240460/discussions/0/620712364019838025/?l=polish

It says there at the bottom to do this:

Here is how to fix it. I did this and after struggling with this, it finally works!

  1. Go to c:/windows/system32
  2. find the file XAudio2_7.dll
  3. rename the file to XAudio2_7.bak

problem solved. No more crashing. At least not for me on Win10. Hope this helps.

So, it could, that this might help for you as well :)

Please let me know if it had helped or not

Cheers from Mara

Hey There Thanks for the long research and reply…

I can not do the memtest for now because i have to wake early for college and i have exams coming up.. cant really do hours without my laptop.. on the other hand, the laptop is just one month old so I highly doubt that memory has any fault. I found something exciting aswell, on my one of the older laptops, I used to play older games like UT3 fine.. but since last week, UT3 is not starting on it too. I checked the Event Viewer and it showed the same 0x….5 exception. I used to play that game on it for years but now it doesnt wanna. I think this is some Windows bug or something… My last hope is updating windows to 20h2 version and then see if it fixed these bugs.

I tried your regedit method it didnt worked and I also tried Virtual Mem method that too didnt work. (It was 4GB previously, I added 4 more) . And about XAudio dll file, I think that file is meant for the audio.. not sure that will fix my probelm.

Regards.

  • #6

It depends for the xaudio.
I would say try it out, and see if it works. If it does but you have no sound it isnt solvable i think, but then at least we know what the problem is.
But honestly, there are more files related to the audio driver, so its just worth a shot imo to see if it works, and IF it works with sound, then you could let it be as it is, isnt it?
But again, keep me posted :)

WWE 2K16 crashes? Game not starting? Bugs in WWE 2K16? Solution to most technical problems.

If WWE 2K16 crashes, WWE 2K16 will not start, WWE 2K16 not installing, there are no controls in WWE 2K16, no sound in game, errors happen in WWE 2K16 – we offer you the most common ways to solve these problems.

Be sure to update your graphics card drivers and other software

Before letting out all of your bad feelings toward development team, do not forget to go to the official website of your graphics card manufacturer and download the latest drivers. There are often specially prepared optimized drivers for specific game. You can also try to install a past versions of the driver if the problem is not solved by installing the current version.
It is important to remember that only the final version of the video card driver must be loaded – try not to use the beta version, since they can have some terrible bugs.

Do not also forget that for good game operation you may need to install the latest version DirectX, which can be found and downloaded from official Microsoft website.

WWE 2K16 not starting

Many of the problems with games launching happen because of improper installation. Check, if there was any error during installation, try deleting the game and run the installer again, but before install don’t forget to disable antivirus – it may often mistakenly delete files during installation process. It is also important to remember that the path to the folder with a game should contain only Latin characters and numbers.

You also have to check whether there is enough space on the HDD for installation. You can also try to run the game as an administrator in compatibility mode with different versions of Windows.

WWE 2K16 crashes. Low FPS. Friezes. Hangs

Your first solution to this problem install new drivers for a video card. This action can drastically rise game FPS. Also, check the CPU and memory utilization in the Task Manager (opened by pressing CTRL + SHIFT + ESCAPE). If before starting the game you can see that some process consumes too many resources — turn off the program or simply remove this process from Task Manager.

Next, go to the graphics settings in the game. First – turn off anti-aliasing and try to lower the setting, responsible for post-processing. Many of them consume a lot of resources and switching them off will greatly enhance the performance, and not greatly affect the quality of the picture.

WWE 2K16 crashes to the desktop

If WWE 2K16 often crashes to the desktop, try to reduce quality of the graphics. It is possible that your PC just does not have enough performance and the game may not work correctly. Also, it is worth to check out for updates — most of today’s games have the automatic patches installation system on startup if internet connection is available. Check to see whether this option is turned off in the settings and switch it on if necessary.

Black of black screen in the WWE 2K16

The most common issue with black screen is a problem with your GPU. Check to see if your video card meets the minimum requirements and install the latest drivers. Sometimes a black screen is the result of a lack of CPU performance.

If everything is fine with your hardware and it satisfies the minimum requirements, try to switch to another window (ALT + TAB), and then return to the game screen.

WWE 2K16 is not installed. Installation hangs

First of all, check that you have enough space on the HDD for installation. Remember that to work properly installer requires the declared volume of space, plus 1-2 GB of additional free space on the system drive. In general, remember this rule – you must always have at least 2 gigabytes of free space on your system drive (usually it’s disk C) for temporary files. Otherwise, the games and the other software may not work correctly or even refuse to start.

Problems with the installation may also be due to the lack of an internet connection or it’s instability. Also, do not forget to stop the antivirus for the time game installation – sometimes it interferes with the correct file copy, or delete files by mistake, mistakenly believing they are viruses.

Saves not working in WWE 2K16

By analogy with the previous solution, check for free space on HDD — both on where the game is installed, and the system drive. Often your saves are stored in a folder of documents, which is separate from the game itself.

Controls not working in WWE 2K16

Sometimes the controls in game do not work because of the simultaneous connection of multiple input devices. Try disabling gamepad, or, if for some reason, you have two connected keyboards or mouses, leave only one pair of devices. If your gamepad does not work, remember — the games usually officially support only native Xbox controllers. If your controller is defined in system differently — try using software that emulates the Xbox gamepad (eg, x360ce — step by step manual can be found here).

No sound in WWE 2K16

Check if the sound works in other programs. Then check to see if the sound is turned off in the settings of the game, and whether there is correct audio playback device selected, which is connected your speakers or headset. After this check volumes in system mixer, it can also be turned off there.

If you are using an external audio card — check for new drivers at the manufacturer’s website.

Featuring the largest roster ever in the history of the franchise, WWE 2K16 has been made available to PC users. The game managed to secure decent reviews on consoles and now it’s time for PC gamers to relish the heart-pounding action.

Overall, the game looks stable enough but there are some minor problems being faced by the users. Hopefully, the developer will take notice and release some patches but in the meanwhile, you can consult our troubleshooting guide for the possible fixes.

WWE 2K16 Errors, Crashes, Performance and Fixes

#1 WWE 2K16 Crashes in Career Mode
If your game is being crashed randomly during the career mode, you should try disabling the ring entrances. This seems to have fixed the issue for and it may very well work for you until some patch comes out.

#2 WWE 2K16 Missing Textures/Weird Graphics
Just update your drivers and the problem should be fixed. If it doesn’t, you should try verifying your game files.

#3 WWE 2K16 Corrupted Save File Issue
If your game is being crashed while you exit it, there are chances that your file might get corrupt. The issue could also be related to the directory so installing the game in different directory may fix the issue for you.

#4 WWE 2K16 Does Not Launch/Start
Alright, you should know that the game isn’t fast in booting up for the first time. So yes, you may have to wait until 5 minutes before it starts. But if it’s stuck forever, try installing the redistibutalbes (vcredist_64 or 32) present in your game’s directory. A restart is recommended after the install and it should fix the problem.

For some users, running the game as admin has also resolved the issue.

#5 WWE 2K16 Black Screen Fix
First things first, make sure that your are meeting the minimum system requirements and using the latest gpu drivers. If that’s not the issue, you should try running the game in windowed mode. After that, make sure that your screen resolution is same that of your in-game resolution.

#6 WWE 2K16 Performance Issue on Laptop
If you are getting a crappy frame rate on a powerful machine then the game is utilizing your intel GPU instead of the dedicated one (Nvidia/AMD). You should switch your machine to performance mode and it should fix the issue. Also make sure that your machine is plugged in while you are gaming.

#7 WWE 2K16 Low FPS Fix
There have been some reports of low FPS (even on high end machines) for WWE 2K16. If you are facing the same issue, try running the game in offline mode. This seems to have solve the issue for some users.

If you are facing any other issues, share with us in the comments below!

One other trick I normally do is applying the tdrdelay trick, which can be found here:

View: https://www.reddit.com/r/battlefield_4/comments/1xzzn4/tdrdelay_10_fixed_my_crashes_since_last_patch/

The mentioned topic is for bf4, but it helps for all applications, and make games/software etc, less prone to crashing.

But again, these are general tips.. and although i have the feeling you were just lucky to run the game, i might’ve found something interesting, although its for 2k15, but it might work for 2k16 as well:

https://steamcommunity.com/app/240460/discussions/0/620712364019838025/?l=polish

It says there at the bottom to do this:

Here is how to fix it. I did this and after struggling with this, it finally works!

  1. Go to c:/windows/system32
  2. find the file XAudio2_7.dll
  3. rename the file to XAudio2_7.bak

problem solved. No more crashing. At least not for me on Win10. Hope this helps.

So, it could, that this might help for you as well :)

Please let me know if it had helped or not :D

Regards.

Hey, I tried the DLL method too, same issue still occurs. It seems update to 20H2 is the last hope anyway…

Other then that for now i have no clue, as youve tried to do almost everything already :(

Still i hope you can do something with the given steam link, but im afraid indeed your last hope is the new windows update.

Anyhow, keep me posted
