“Firmware Update
Do not unplug the USB connection until the process is complete.”

A number of users report their LG phone being stuck on the firmware update screen with “Do not disconnect USB” message. Since the screen is frozen, it is difficult to try and fix anything or know what is going on. Fix 1: Soft Reset

The easiest way to troubleshoot the problem of your LG Phone being stuck on the firmware update screen is to do a soft reset. Press the volume down and the lock button together for a while to force restart the phone. This should unfreeze the phone from the firmware update screen.

Fix 2: Battery Pull

Remove the battery while the device is plugged into a laptop, computer, or the wall. Insert the battery and power it back on after a few seconds of being unplugged. A battery icon with a red exclamation point should appear.

Remove the back cover’s plastic snap. To access the battery, unscrew the small screws and remove the plastic cover. The battery’s terminal can be unplugged at the left-most top corner, where a flat, short cable emerges from the battery. Simply slide your fingernail under the small plug to remove it. Remove the battery from the phone and wait about 10 seconds before reinstalling it.

Using Safe Mode, the phone can be started without any third-party apps or programmes and at its original default settings. Disabling and eliminating problematic applications is a helpful step in diagnosing an LG phone stuck on the firmware update screen.

• Go to Settings > General > Storage & USB, select Cached Data, and then click OK to remove the data.
• Look for anything using an unusually large amount of memory under Settings > General > Memory > Memory used by apps. If you’re having issues, it may be because you’re using an app that isn’t up to par. When the Safe Mode window appears, you can also hold down the Power button while tapping and holding the Power Off button. In some cases, the LG phone’s camera may suddenly issue a “Warning: Camera Failed” message or something similar after an unspecified amount of time or after an update has passed. After this, the camera will no longer function.

There has been a problem with some LG phone owners getting their GPS to work properly. As a result, the connection may drop frequently or it may not be able to update at all. As long as you’re out and about and not in an enclosed area, your GPS should be able to find you. In order to determine if the problem is with your LG phone, try to use a different device.

Potential Fixes:

• To begin, pull down the notification shade and swipe along until you find Airplane Mode. Switch it on and then off. Put your GPS to the test.
• If you have a case on your LG phone, remove it and see if the GPS works better.

It may be an update to your device, but it sounds unusual because no device is allowed to update its firmware when the device battery is running below 30% anyhow, unless you clicked on Update Now button that time, and plugged it into charging.

1. If it’s an update, wait some time as you told your device is dead that means system has downloaded that file before turned off. So it will automatically install its firmware.

2. In the worst case, you may need to install a very new firmware manually but before continue to install new firmware try this:

   • Press Power + Volume up + Home simultaneously until Samsung logo appears.

   • It may take time to show up recovery menu. In recovery menu you will see option as Reboot.

   • Press Home button by going to reboot option through Volume up button.

If this was a temporary problem, you could use your device now.

A few days ago my LG K30 got stuck on the firmware update screen all of a sudden. I did a force restart to boot it again. However, I realized whenever I’m connecting it to my computer it again goes to the firmware update screen. This was quite frustrating. After doing a little research I was able to fix my phone.

In this post, we are going to learn how to fix an LG K30 stuck on the firmware update screen –

There are 2 possibilities for your K30 getting stuck in the Download Mode / Firmware Update Screen –

1. All of a sudden may be due to a Battery issue

In my case, the phone rebooted every time to the above firmware update screen when connected to a computer.

At this stage, you’ll fail to reboot your K30 using the power button. We cannot turn it off even by removing the battery as it’s non-removable.

In such a case, the only option left is to force restart the phone.

To force restart your K30, press the volume down and power button for 10 seconds or until the phone restarts.

While the phone is rebooting, release the power button but keep holding the volume down key.

Release the volume down button when you are on the K30 lock screen.

After doing this my K30 never got stuck to the firmware update screen until now.

2. Due to a failed System Update

A failed android system update on your K30 can also bring you to the Firmware Update Screen.

During an update, the phone should not be interrupted at all. In some cases, the firmware file can also be corrupt.

Whatever is the reason, our first try should be a force restart.

Let’s try to force restart our K30 by pressing the Volume Down & Power button for 10 seconds.

If this brings your phone back to life, well and good, else we need to flash a firmware file via LGUP.
