I am trying to develop a mobile application using Android Studio but I am always getting a pop message with below message.

Intel HAXM is required to run this AVD.
HAXM device is not found.

Enable VT-x in your BIOS security settings, ensure that HAXM is installed properly. Try disabling 3rd party security software if the problem still occurs.

Things I have tried:

Installed the HAXM installer on SDK Manager
Went to Extras -> Intel -> Hardware_Accelerated_Execution_Manager and run the file named «intelhaxm-android.exe». But getting error message as «Failed to configure driver: unknown error. Failed to open driver.»

I am using:
Android Studio 3.5 on Windows 7.

Could you kindly let me know that Windows 7 supports Android application development using Android Studio?
Could you kindly let me how this issue can be addressed?

For me, the problem was exactly in the HAXM version (Currently 7.5.4). I rolled back to version 7.5.1 and it worked.

Did the following (For Windows):

Found the HAXM installer (Tools -> SDK Manager, Follow the Android SDK LocationextrasintelHardware_Accelerated_Execution_Managerintelhaxm-android.exe), using it deleted HAXM.
I downloaded HAXM from an older version (7.5.1) from https://github.com/intel/haxm/releases
Installed
Restarted Android Studio and it worked

To solve this problem, download and install this update https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=46148 from Microsoft and then restart your computer.

This solved it for me on windows7 64 bits and android studio 3.5.3

For me this problem was solved by disabling Hyper-V on Windows 10.
The below are the steps to disable Hyper-V:

In «Control Panel», select «Programs and Features».
Select «Turn Windows features on or off».
Expand «Hyper-V», expand «Hyper-V Platform», and then clear the «Hyper-V Hypervisor» check box.

Hi Guys, In this article, we are going to learn about How to solved the HAXM device not found. This is the most common error faced by Android developers. Because of this error, we can’t run Android Virtual Device (AVD). Intel HAXM is mandatory to run Android emulators. so I have to face this error every time when I install Android studio newly on my Laptop.

I Search for some solutions and tried but AVD showing the same error. after trying some of the solutions finally I was able to solve this error in my Window Laptop. So I decided to share this error solution so that it can help others. so let’s start with solutions for how to solved Intel HAXM device not found.

Before going to start check this post How to Install Android Studio and Environment Setup

1. Check HAXM installed on your machine

Check if Intel HAXM Not installed Properly

First, check if Intel HAXM is installed on your system or not. to check this goto Android SDK manager from the Android SDK directory or from Android studio. check if Intel x86 Emulator Accelerator(HAXM installer) is installed or not. if not installed then install it.

If it is already installed then uninstall and reinstall again. If you facing any error while installing then you can download manually using this link.

If you are still getting the following error

Failed to configure driver: unknown error. Failed to open the driver. then you will get the solution at this link.

2. Check Intel Virtualization technology

Check Intel Virtualization technology is enabled or not

Virtualization is disabled then AVD gives an error HAXM device not found. to check this you need to restart your computer and go to BIOS settings and Enabled Intel Virtualization.

Note: Your machine is not supported with Virtualization technology then use the following solutions:

You can use third-party emulators like Bluestacks, Genymotion, Nox Player, etc.
Use real device

After trying many solutions error is not gone. so I tried the following solution and it works

3. Install intelhaxm-android

I have already install intelhaxm but it still shows the same error so I install it from the Android SDK directory. here’s the path AndroidSDK/extras/intel/intelhaxm-android.exe. I run this Application and finish the installation. restart Android studio and it works.

Android Emulator or QEMU version: Android 8.0

Guest OS version:    x86 

Guest OS architecture: oreo

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:
1.going to adv manager and try creting any adv.
2.haxm device not found
3.if you run adv it says unable to run adv

Expected Behavior: ADV should launch emulator

Expectation:ADV should work smoothly

Reproducibility

Diagnostic Information: when i troubleshoot it says «Enable VT-x in your BIOS security settings, ensure that HAXM is installed properly. Try disabling 3rd party security software if the problem still occurs.»
done all three things wont help. spend 4 days.
even tried enabeling downloading unsigned driver, which is also not helpful

HAXM unable to install
1. Insert the flutter plugin, click File / Setting / Appearance & Behavior / System Setting / Android SDK, update the Android Studio tool, the virtual machine cannot start, prompt «Unable to install intel® HAXM HAXM Device IS Not found.»
2.D: AndroidStudio SDK Extras Intel folder is empty
3. Solution:
(1) Control Panel — Program and Features -> Uninstall Intel Hardware Accelerated Execution Manager, as shown:
(2) Back to Android Studio’s file / setting / appearance & behavior / system setting / android sdk-> sdk tools, hit Intel x86 emulator √, then Apply; download success page as follows:

(3) Open the AVD Manager, select the device you want to debug, click Show on Disk, select the config.ini file, change hw.gpu.mode = auto, change to hw.gpu.mode = OFF, Ctrl + S Save;

(4) Final / Invalidate Caches / Restart, virtual machines can be used. If you still don’t do it, you will re-uninstall HAXM, reinstall it.

Всем привет, я новичок в разработке по android, установил jdk поставил android studio версию 3.5, установил Hardware Accelerated Execution Manager, использую windows 7 x64, пытаюсь добавить эмулятор, мне выдает haxm device not found

как исправить?

используй старую версию, например HAXM 7.4.1 (у самого стоит эта версия). Такая же проблема была, установил старую версию и все нормально… сначала удали старую
