Question

Hi,
When I want to open an acce-file by double-clicking it in Windows explorer it get the error:
‘Can’t find Language DLL msain.dll’
The strange thing (IMO) is that when I open the accde-file from within Access, it opens fine. Also clicking on the accde-file in the ‘recent’-part of the pinned to the taskbar Access-icon, opens the file just fine.
(Office 2013 — 32 bit on Windows 7 — 64 bit)
Anyone know a solution for this behaviour?

Hi,
Please try to re-install Access to check the issue. It seems other programs crashed the Dll.

Hi all,
My friend has an MS-Access database file lives on his machine (.mdb) that whenever he try to open it this error message pops-up «Can’t find Language DLL msain.dll»
But the whenever I try to open that file on my machine it opens normally. He tried to reinstall Office package, and that still doesn’t solve the issue.
Any suggestion about that issue will be appreciated.

Hi,
Typically, a repair or reinstall of Office should work (fix the problem). You could also try reinstalling just Access. What version of Access is it?

Hi
swaaa,i can see that you are able to open the same database on your machine.
i suggest you to copy the objects from that database to new database using your machine.
then try to use that new database on your friends machine and try to open that database.
also check whether you are able to create new database on that machine or not.
you can also try to open any other database on his machine to check whether the issue is only with specific database or with Application.
let us know , if this suggestion work for you or not.
if not, please try to provide more information about Access on both machine and information about database.
we will try to provide you further suggestions to solve the issue.

Deepak

Hi swaaa,
>> me and my friend using Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus, Using My Office App 2010
What is the specific version for Office 365, Access 2013 or Access 2016?
If your friend open Access, and create a new access database, will he receive the same error?
I suggest you create a new Access database with .accdb extension, will it work on your friend computer?
In addition, did he install multiple Access version on his computer?
>> He tried to reinstall Office package
Which package did he reinstall?
Best Regards,
Tao Zhou

Первым делом:
Скачайте библиотеку — скачать MSAIN.DLL
Затем:
Поместите MSAIN.DLL
MSAIN.DLL
Since the Office updates last week (November 11th I believe), I have a user who can’t open Access 2010…if she tries, she gets this first:
It will then complete:
She goes to Open Access:
And no matter if she chooses YES or NO, she will get:
If I try again, same 4 things happen…repair install doesn’t seem to help. And she refuses to upgrade to Office 2013/2016 for reasons we won’t get into here.
She does have Access 2003 installed for a legacy Access DB we can’t leave but she used to be able to view it in 2010
Any other suggestions?
1. Go to Control Panel
2. Click on Programs
3. Click on Programs and Features
4. Right-click on Office
5. Choose Change
6. Choose “Repair” (Online repair for Office 2013 / 365)
7. Click on Continue
