Many times. They said that Google Earth Pro 64-bit works on many iMac’s worldwide AND to not let you point us back to them. This is an APPLE problem!

I recently upgraded my iMac to OS 10.14 Mohave and it now keeps complaining that 32-bit apps no longer worked.
This caused me to replace my perfectly functioning Google Earth with this new app Pro version. For a short time I got a visual of the area I wanted but it was VERY blurry. Now, GE does not even come up.
Now when I start up GE Pro I get the following pop up messages and I am can no longer see the visuals that I desire.
«Google Earth failed connect to database. The URL kh.google.com:80/ does not appear to be valid ….»
«Google Earth is unable to contact the login server. …. (Error code: c000000c)»
Can anybody tell me how to resolve these issues and get GE running again?

Additional information:
Running 7.3.2.5776 (64-bit). Have uninstalled/re-installed it several times. Ran Repair Tools several times and did ‘Restore to
Defaults’. Turned off firewall and Wi-Fi and also allowed chrome earth.
I tried to find an earlier GE version to load/run but all downloads translate to the new Pro version.
Cox Cable provides a McAfee antivirus but I cannot find it in either Utilities or Application folders so I guess it is not installed.
I do not have a VPN.
I don’t know what it means but there is in System Preferences -> Network -> Proxies a checked ‘SOCKS Proxy’ with «Bypass proxy settings for these Hosts and Domains:’ *.local, 169.254/16
There is also an unchecked ‘Auto Proxy Discovery’ option.
I have no idea where to check the firewall’s ‘log of blocked traffic’. Any suggestions?

Download and reinstall Google Earth Pro from the Google site.
If that fails uninstall Google Earth Pro with the free AppCleaner
and reinstall again from scratch.
Lastly boot into Safe Mode and try GEP from there.
NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 10 minutes as it’s doing some system cache cleaning, volume verifying and directory repairing.

Old Toad, your suggestions on using AppCleaner deleted 18 files. When I went into SAFE Mode GEP came up but ran very slow. I rebooted in regular mode and GEP came up but I still get the message when I launch GEP:
«Google Earth is unable to contact the login server. …. (Error code: c000000c)»
Also, when I put a location and do Search, nothing comes up on the GEP earth like I expect. However, I can keep clicking on a place on the earth to get where I want and to magnify it. However, the many versions of the GEP maps (for different seasons and years) does not work. It seems stuck on 1998.
While going back and forth and trying to Sign In, I see the message «SOCKS version 5 protocal error». I repeat my earlier finding — note the SOCKS Proxy reference in my preferences ??? — any ideas???:

I think I found the problem although I am sure I do not know the cause. After reading more posts and networking explanations, I went into my iMac System preferences and did this:
System Preferences -> Network -> Proxies and UNCHECKED ‘SOCKS Proxy‘
- This caused the access problems to go away.
- The Socks error during Log In went away.
- The GEP Search capability came back.
- The historical imagery slider brought back previous versions of the map so that I could look at the area when the trees were bare
Now, it would be very nice if there was a clear explanation why this works AND if I broke anything when I unchecked the SOCKS Proxy choice.

Sent an email over Cox Internet and I got a Proxy error. Accepted their choice and email sent. Went to check my proxy settings and SOCKS was set again after I had unchecked it.
Unchecked SOCKS proxy in my settings and set Automatic Proxy Discovery, sent several test emails through Cox successfully and my proxy settings still set at auto discovery. Sound right????

Unchecking this worked for Google Earth. Also, most of my emails, Safari, and other applications were affected including the App Store App. Very frustrating but now everything seems to be working.

I have the same issues. I’m on a Mac. Is the «SOCKS proxy» fix for Mac or PC? I have no idea where to find it on my MBP.

I had all the same issues — GE not working right, safari locking up — and the change to auto discovery proxy worked. I also believe the the ‘infection’ i.e. changes to proxy come in when you update the adobe flash player so be aware that when you do that on whatever frequency, you probably need to clean this up again.

I just found the solution to this problem on Windows after two reinstalls and
full clearing of all trace on the system. It has occured before after
periods of infrequent use.
Build: 7.3*, Windows 10 Pro 1909, Nvidia Quadro K4000M/Intel HD 4000 graphics, Samsung SSD.
Open Google Earth, launch repair tool under Help menu
Close Google Earth leaving repair tool open
Choose «Restore Default Settings». You should also clear the cache.
If this doesn’t work use repair tool and do the above, but include
deleting ‘my places’ after you backup the .kmz file in another folder. Search for .kmz file if you cannot find it. You
can reload your my places file after GE is working again.

запускаешь Интернет Эксплорер, идешь в меню Tools (Сервис) -> Internet Options (Свойства обозревателя) -> Connections (Подключение) -> LAN Settings (я хз, как в русской) -> proxy
если ты пользуешься для просмотра интернет-страниц другим броузером, то, вероятно, что в ИЕ не прописана прокси или наоборот прописана, а не должна быть
гугл земля же берет эту информацию из свойств интернет эксплорера

Google Earth is an amazing tool that helps you explore the globe from the comfort of your home, but sometimes using this program might end in a proxy server error.
Surely enough, you can use Google Earth even if you’re behind a proxy. However, like any other online utilities, Google Earth can also experience connectivity issues.
The server error usually means that the desktop version of this app (called Google Earth Pro) can’t communicate with Google’s servers. As a result, you might not be able to use the program as intended, or at all.
How to fix Google Earth server error?
1. Use the Repair Tool
- Launch Google Earth Pro
- Click the Help button
- Select Launch Repair Tool from the Help menu
- Click the Clear disk cache button
- Wait for the operation to come to an end, if necessary
- Click the Restore default settings button
- Check if the problem still persists
If this fix doesn’t seem to be working, try closing Google Earth Pro after launching the Repair Tool. Make sure that the tool is still running, even with Google Earth Pro being closed.
Another possible workaround is backing up the entire My Places folder somewhere on your PC, repeating the steps above, and also selecting the Delete My Places option.
Note that it’s not mandatory to back up the content of the folder. You should only perform the backup if the content of the folder is important and you don’t want to lose your saved data.
2. Wait it out
Sometimes, due to various server-side reasons that have nothing to do with you, Google Earth might not be able to communicate with Google’s servers.
Thus, in this situation, the best approach would be waiting for the issue to fix itself. More often than not it’s related to maintenance work.
3. Use a VPN
- Purchase a Private Internet Access subscription
- Download PIA and install it on your PC
- Launch the VPN client and log into your account
- Connect to an optimal, fast server (nearby servers are usually the fastest)
- Launch Google Earth Pro
- Check if the problem still persists
If your network is poorly configured in terms of routing and resource allocation, you may experience the occasional connection error, even with Google Earth.

- Close the CMD window
- Restart your computer
- Check if the error still persists
Flushing your DNS is a healthy practice, as it makes sure your system doesn’t cache old, outdated, or inaccurate information.
In our case, having an old cache can prevent you from accessing Google Earth servers properly, and might even trigger the infamous proxy error.
5. Check your firewall
This should be quite obvious. If you’re using a firewall (you should) to manage incoming and outgoing connections to and from your PC, make sure Google Earth connections aren’t blacklisted.
Furthermore, you also need to check if the Google Earth app isn’t blocked in any way by your firewall. The same rule applies to your antivirus software, as this type of utility can also restrict certain apps from functioning properly on your PC.
6. Disable proxy usage
While using a proxy server, Google Earth might not be able to access its servers properly. First of all, check that your PC doesn’t rely on a proxy connection.
Try disabling the proxy connection temporarily, just enough to test if Google Earth works without proxy. If it does, it means that the issue is likely to have been triggered by the proxy.
In this case, you can either check the proxy’s configuration or switch it off whenever you plan on using Google Earth.

All things considered, Google Earth can sometimes have issues connecting to Google’s servers. Although most of the time this issue is only temporary and fixes itself rather quickly, sometimes it can also be triggered by certain factors.
