На нетбуке установлена ОС Windows 7 Максимальная.
При установке обновления IE 11 [через центр обновления Windows] возникает ошибка 9C47.
Все другие обновления при этом устанавливаются без проблем.
Данное обновление пробовал закачивать отдельно, — тоже без результата. Сбрасывал настройки IE 10 по умолчанию — не помогло.
Подскажите, в чём может быть причина?

Check the error log file
- Open File Explorer and navigate to the following location:
C:WindowsIE11_main.log - Open the Internet Explorer log file in Notepad.

net stop bits rename c:windowsSoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.bak
net start wuauserv
net start bits - Once all the commands are successfully executed, open File Explorer and navigate to the following location:
C:/Windows - Check if the folder is renamed to SoftwareDistribution.bak.
- Once the folder is renamed, you need to download the KB Update again by following the first step.
There are multiple ways to rename the Software Distribution folder in Windows. Renaming the folder can help you fix any issues caused due to folder corruption.
Reinstall Internet Explorer 11
- Press the Windows key + R.
- Type control and click OK to open Control Panel.
- Go to Programs and open Programs and Features.
- Select Internet Explorer 11 and click on Uninstall. Click Yes to confirm the action.
- Once uninstalled, open the Internet Explorer 11 download page for 32-bit IE11 and 64-bit IE11.
- Click the Download button to download the installer. Run the installer and check if the error is resolved.
Reinstalling Internet Explorer 11 should fix this error. If the error persists, try uninstalling the KB update causing the error.
Uninstall the bad Windows update

When i searched the posts, this problem seems to be a never ending story.
We have one PC in our network where we cannot install IE11. The PC is running Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit (German language). IE9 was successfully installed via WSUS in the past. The installation of IE11 via WSUS failed. We did not bother about
that for some time but now we need IE11 on this machine.
In the log there is on significant error:
00:08.471: INFO: KB2729094 could not be download is not installed.
After that the installation stops.
According to the troubleshooting guide
https://support.microsoft.com/kb/2872074/en-us?wa=wsignin1.0 we tried a manual installation of the prerequisites. The named KB2729094 was successfully installed but the installation states the same error.
All other prerequisites could not be manually installed because the installer sayd that the update does not fit our System but the versions we downloaded were the correct 64-Bit versions.
We tried an installation with an ie11 installation package we downloaded from microsoft. When we did this, we got other errors in the log file:

Interesting enough is that the Update KB2729094 that was mentioned above was not downloaded as prerequisite because it was alreade installed.
We got stuck here. Any suggestions beyond the troubleshooting guide?

Really quickly here guys…I didn’t think this fix would work, but it did work so I’m providing it here for you to try if you’re having trouble installing the update “Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7”
Steps
- Open up the link to update KB2729094: http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=30521 (32-bit Win7) or http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30566 (64-bit Win7)
- Install the update. (It will probably tell you that the update is already installed)
- Go to Windows Update and Retry the “Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7” update.
- If that doesn’t work…
- Open up the log file: C:WindowsIE11_main.log and scroll to the section relating to your last try installing IE11. You will see a line like this: KBxxxxxxx could not be download is not installed.
- Search MS downloads for that KB file and try installing it. Try to install IE11 right after that.
- If that still doesn’t work…
- Rename the SoftwareDistribution folder (google for instructions) and try again from #1
- Or…
- Goto MS downloads and get the entire IE11 download and install that.
- Or…
- Uninstall the KB that is being noted in the IE11_main.log file and then reinstall it and try again from #1

Recently, I found that one of the servers doesn’t have IE11. I was surprised by that, but OK. I never use IE (or any other browser) on any server. Additionally, most of the servers don’t even have the default gateway address.
I ran Windows update, it started to work….
….and then just finished with the error screen. I checked it and the error was 9C47. The Internet search returned many hints pointing to the IE11 installation. The main source of information is the IE11 installation log.
The error is not so interesting, but the whole troubleshooting process is interesting and weird. I know that you will not expect anything less than that from my blog. Before you begin, my friends, take a deep breath and be patient.
Let me try the offline installation
Many Windows updates, including this one, can be downloaded either from Microsoft download center or Microsoft Updates Catalog site. I downloaded IE11 from the Microsoft support page.
The offline installer is placed on the desktop and ran from there.
It started the installation and stopped with the message that a required update is not installed on the server.
As this widow is not informative, we need specific information about the missing updates. I already wrote this article about the offline installation of IE11 and it’s dependent updates. All necessary information is inside the IE11 installation log, which you can find inside the %systemroot% folder.
I opened this log and scrolled down to the end of the file.
In the first pass, I had three updates. So I copied the KB number and searched for it. I downloaded and executed all of them; two of three installed.
The strangest update is this KB2729094. I ran that update and the WUSA installer reported that this update already existed. I rebooted the server, as one of these updates required reboot.
After rebooting, I again tried the offline installation and it failed again, complaining that the necessary update is not installed. And yes, this one is KB2729094. I tried to run it again. And again I received a report that this update is already installed and cannot be installed again.
Well, OK, let me try the offline IE11 installation again. I ran it and voila!
It seems that IE11 needed some time to decide whether it will install or not. After a few complaints about the afore mentioned update, it just did it.
After all
I spent a few hours trying to solve this issue. I still don’t know what caused this problem and how it’s possible that the IE installer can’t see the update. All I can say is that it’s a strange path the journey of a Windows update.
The main tool here is your patience and willing to deep dive into the log files.
