VB6 DLL is not log messages in the Windows Server 2003 event log when it is called from an ASP page

I have an ASP web application, I will create a «VBModule1» (VB6 Dll) instance of an ASP page and inside this method of «VBModule1» I create an instance of another VB6 Dll ‘VBLogger’, who calls App.LogEvent () to write messages to the event log.

I tested the Web application on the develepoment (XP) machine and everything worked fine but when the user runs the Web application on the Production Server (windows server 2003) events are not saved.

Friend missing the security settings of my ASP web app that needs to be configured on Windows Server 2003 for VB6 DLLs logging events?

Error during installation of Windows Server 2003

I installed VMWare Player, however, when I went to install Windows Server 2003 (easy installation) on my windows 7 Home Edition (64-bit) as owner / administrator.

The VMWare authorization Services do not seem to be started, but when I try to start them via the services.msc, I get the following error:

«Windows failed to start the service on Local computer VMWare authorization Service.

«Error 1067: the process terminated unexpectedly.»

I studied this error and saw a few notes on adding __vmware_user__ my users the.  But with what privileges?

I also saw a few notes on execution of «regsrv32 vmauxx.exe» which does not work on my computer.

Any ideas on how to proceed?

In addition to the installation of VMware Player, I suggest that you install the guest without using «Easy Install».

Performance diagnosis is not available in the Windows Server 2008 Event Viewer

In Event Viewer, I can see the Microsoft-Windows-Diagnostics-Performance/operational under Windows 7 but I couldn’t get under another computer running Windows 2008. Is it possible to allow that?

VMware vCenter Converter Standalone 5.5.0 build-1362012 — unknown internal error trying to P2V Windows Server 2003 SP2

I have a box of Windows Server 2003 SP2 Standard that fails to convert using vCenter Converter Standalone 5.5.0 build-1362012. After you submit the task in the wizard’s GUI, I get «a general error has occurred: unknown internal error». A virtual machine is created and deleted and then a few moments later.

The destination is VMware ESXI version 5.5.0 build-1623387 managed by vSphere Client version 5.5.50 build-1618071. The destination data store is a 5.60 VMFS volume with block size of 4 MB, on a local SATA HDD with 923, 50GB.

Both machines are in the same network and have no any King or firewall or ACL in switches.

In the log file, the only error is «error»Ufa.HTTPService»] Impossible to read the application; «flow: io_obj p:0x03403f24, h:-1, < tube».pipevmware-converter-server-soap»>, < pipe».pipevmware-converter-server-soap»> >, error: class Vmacore::TimeoutException (Operation timed out).

Once the converter VMware-converter-en — 5.5.1 — 1682692 does not work, with a touch of friend uninstall the 5.5 version of Converter Standalone Client, look for the VMware converter version — 4.0.0 — 146302 and install this version to the other machine. No not that I had to be Converter, but the windows 7 Pro 64-bit.

After this race, the Standalone Client 4.4 Converter and everything work fine.

Now I have the P2V converted and good machine, as was the real operation!

Adobe Reader DC contains errors and crashes with Windows Server R2 2012

We have recently installed Adobe Reader DC Adobe version on our servers Windows Server R2 2012 and have problems since its launch. Few of the questions that we have seen are as follows:

1. This version is a little awkward and crashes.
2. A lot of pop up boxes that appears whenever I open a document.
3. Whenever I open a document it is a box pop up welcome
4. It is a little slow to respond between clicks
5. If I click on options like file. The application hangs and then crashes. (see crash message attachment)

Any help to solve this problem would be useful.

InDesign error code: 5 — on Windows Server or Qnap

We continue to receive mean error code: 5 problems of corruption with our CC InDesign files on our corporate network. It doesn’t seem like there is a work beyond obvious autour back manually before opening a file.

The behavioiur arrives on a variety of machines, always when you save the file (although corruption is not apparent, until you try to open the file again with the same or another machine).

Longer with the OS X Mavericks machines on Windows file sharing, but also arises on the rapid sharing of Qnap, (SSD and a dual Gbit ethernet, versus 7200 RPM drives and a single Gbit ethernet link).

All Gbit links with CAT6 network cabling. It’s an Active Directory environment.

At this point, it is either Active Directory that throws the questions or it is from InDesign. Any other type of file were corrupted never well!

Don’t think it’s OS X — although I have observed only corruption happening once (and I’m not 100% sure of the observation) with one of our machines Windows 8.

Everyone suffers from this kind of problem? It is quite ordinary for us — occurs at least three or four times a week between 10 users…

So we fixed that in our environment. I suspect it’s a combination of things.

We have to switch and teaming network adapters on the server. That does not help him alone, although reduced the presence a little.

So, we have improved the macs in Yosemite. Doesn’t really have much of a difference, but support for smb3 probably helped together with the next bit.

We got a new, server of 2012 r2 for windows, with a very fast ssd raid array. No more code error 5.

All this happened within a few months, so it is difficult to say if the impact fell with the first two changes. And I could not check if the new server was solely responsible, because we have not kept any Mac on the mavericks, and kept the old switch in the room. It seemed in any case mostly occur when we had very heavy traffic on the server (we are a Publisher, so generally it would be on our press days — is not ideal!).

In any case, it is quite an expensive solution, but it has its good sides — everything is much more fluid, and windows 2012 is a breeze (relatively) to implement and administer.

Occasional errors of NTFS on Windows Server VM

I have a Windows 2003 server that I sometimes (every 2 weeks or more) get NTFS errors during backup (Backup Exec 12.5).  It’s always the same drive (dynamic spanning two volumes).  The VM data store is on a NetApp iSCSI SAN.  If I run chkdsk, mistakes become clear.  That’s happened last night again.  I have a whole directory that is inaccessible today.  Hopefully chkdsk will fix it again.

60 GB is a small disk, dynamic disks is the only way for volumes over 2 TB.

You can extend your customer VI vmdk and then resize the NTFS with Dell ExtPart partition, gparted or any tool of partitioning that you like.
